Wallace, NC – In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, The River Landing Women’s Golf League is hosting its 8th Annual “Swing for the Cure” (formerly Rally for the Cure) golf tournament and dinner on Saturday, Oct. 23.
All proceeds from the event will be donated to the UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center at the UNC-Chapel Hill School of Medicine, specifically for breast cancer research.
“We really wanted to keep the money local,” said Gail Vance, 2010 Swing for the Cure co-chair. “And, we’d really like to exceed the $7,100 that we raised last year.”
The golf tournament is open to all River Landing women. It will be a scramble event held on the River Course, which was recently upgraded with new Champion Ultra Dwarf greens. Any organization, individual, or family may choose to sponsor a hole for the tournament for $50.
Also, for the first time this year, the dinner, cocktails and silent auction/raffle following the tournament will be open to all River Landing property owners and their family members. A donation of $20 is requested for the first member with another $10 requested for each additional guest. The cost of dinner and any cocktails will be charged to the individual member’s account.
